Q3-4 2011
This autumn has been quite different than previous years with new a coach, new environment and new training schedule. I started the first semester of an economics program at the Gothenburg School of Economics in the middle of August and I am very happy with it so far. The combination of training and studies is perfect for me and one favoring the other. I perform better at the training sessions when I have "used your brain" and concentrate better when I have trained. Bobbie Lohse, Olympic silver medalist in sailing in 1996, is my coach now and is in charge of my training schedule. So far it has worked very well and we have focused much on building up my strength. And because of this, I have become significantly stronger during this autumn and it has given me a lot of benefits. It is very noticeable when I run that I have become stronger. I have managed to take 140 kilograms in deep squat which is a new personal best. I also noted a new personal best on the vertical jump where I jumped 57 cm. I will start competing in February and finish the indoor season with the Swedish National Championships in combined events in mid-March. After the indoor season, I will begin a new basic period with a training camp in Spain and then begin the outdoor season. I now hope to stay injury-free and healthy and 2012 is going to be a fun year!
