What’s your strategy for digitization?

8 September, 2015

In India, half of the population are under 35. Almost everyone has a smart phone. No one uses a computer. What does that imply for you as a supplier or entrepreneur and your digitization?

India, along with other countries, have completely or partially skipped the computer era and access the net and information through their phones. In two years: 300 million Indians do not want, or even can, sit in front of a computer. Many of these are buyers or even buyers within an industrial company. They want to compare, check, place an order, coordinate packaging, get their delivery data, and pay their bill on the phone. Obviously. As obvious is the fact that all interfaces and all communication must be available in many different languages.
For an industry that is struggling with its digitization of products and services, there are several paths forward. Shape procedures and forums that systematically look at your company’s offer from the customer’s view. Bring expertise and information from development, production, supply, service and marketing. Make sure to engage young people who are already riding the surf-wave. Bring digitization in your “near term roadmap«. It will affect your business – tomorrow.

About Dan Sone

"I am a strong advocate for the idea that everyone must understand the bigger picture in order to do a good job, whether it's about identifying and prioritizing changes or carrying out their daily work. That's why I work with visual models that make it easier to see the whole picture and understand the connections. I have helped companies identify, plan, and implement changes at the intersection of business and IT for over 25 years. I'm starting to see patterns in what makes changes successful. Would you like some good advice?"
